These are her Sound & Vision choices:
Three of my favourite albums:
What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye –
I think it’s one of the most beautiful, cohesive concept records ever recorded. I love that Marvin got flack from Motown for saying something risky and beautiful and he said it anyway.
Figure 8 by Elliott Smith –
It came to me at a very impacting time in my life. It’s a masterpiece.
A Hard Day’s Night by The Beatles –
The first chord changed my ears permanently and made me who I am today.
One favourite film:
Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders –
There’s a monologue in this movie that broke my heart wide open and has stuck with me ever since. Ry Cooder score never hurt anyone.
One favourite book:
Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach really changed me. She’s an amazing therapist and practitioner. Worth many reads.
One song that’s important to me:
Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks –
Always there to help me keep my chin up when I feel alone.
