If you can squeeze in twenty minutes between multiple listens of new albums from The National, Cate Le Bon and the A-side of Bill Calahan, the wonderful Gia Margeret, Hayden Thorpe, Ezra Furman, RF Shannon, David Allred and NATIVE HARROW have new offerings that are all worth your attention.
It’s been a long time coming, but Gia Margaret’s critically acclaimed debut album, There’s Always Glimmer, is finally available for us to buy here in the UK. To celebrate, there’s a brand new track in the offing – listen to Babies above.
Keeled Scales are churning out plenty of wonderful artists and records at the moment at RF Shannon is certainly no different. Third LP, Rain On Dust, comes quickly on the heels of last year’s Trickster Blues and is preceded by the floaty, introspective single Wild Rose Pass.
The Cell is the second song to be taken from David Allred’s upcoming album of the same name. The Californian – who is signed to London based, Erased Tapes, releases the album on 14th June.
Ex-Wild Beasts’ man Hayden Thorpe has an album out today and has released another single to keep us warm with Earthly Needs. The record is quite a departure from his previous work and feels deeply emotional.
New York-based Devin Tuel may consider herself to be an artist meant for a different time, but the singer-songwriter now finds herself inhabiting her own true place as she shares the first single – Something You Have – from her debut Loose album, Happier Now, released under NATIVE HARROW – watch the video above.
And finally – the prolific Ezra Furman – is set to drop the follow-up to last year’s Transangelic Exodus in late August, returning to all-out-punk with new single Calm Down aka I Should Not Be Alone.
